Used copy of Fantasy Flight Games Mansions of Madness Board Game, 1st Edition, for 2-5 players, from 2011. Designed by Corey Konieczka, Mansions of Madness is a game of horror, insanity, and mystery set in the world of H.P. Lovecraft's horror fiction. One player takes the role of the keeper, responsible for the monsters and happenings of the game, while the other players take on the roles of investigators solving a mystery. Each game takes place within a pre-designed story that provides a unique map and several combinations of plot threads, which affect the monsters encountered, the clues needed, and the climactic story ending. The box includes 32 figures, over 300 cards, over 200 tokens and markers, and nearly 70 puzzle tiles. The first edition was later retired and replaced by Mansions of Madness Second Edition, making this original version increasingly sought after. It is well suited to fans of cooperative and asymmetric horror games, and owners of the first edition base game can use its investigator figures, monster figures, and map tiles with the second edition game to add variety and unlock extra scenarios.
