About this deal

This add-on shield is designed for hobbyists and makers who want to add wired internet connectivity to their Arduino projects. Based on the Wiznet W5100 Ethernet chip, it allows Arduino boards to connect to the internet. It fits all versions of the Arduino main board including the 2009, Mega 1280 and Mega 2560, can be used as a server or client, and requires no soldering. It connects via long wire-wrap headers that extend through the shield, keeping the pin layout intact and allowing another shield to be stacked on top. The W5100 provides a network IP stack capable of both TCP and UDP, supporting up to four simultaneous socket connections. An onboard micro SD card slot can be used to store files for serving over the network. The shield also features a standard RJ-45 connection with an integrated line transformer. It is directly supported by the official Arduino Ethernet Library, and status LEDs indicate power, network link activity, full-duplex mode and 100 Mb/s connection speed.
