The ESP32-S3 is a low-power MCU that integrates 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy dual-mode wireless communication. This development board is aimed at makers, hobbyists and engineers working on IoT, smart home or AIoT projects. The chip runs on a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor clocked at up to 240 MHz, with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth LE connectivity. The two Type-C ports serve distinct purposes: one handles USB-to-UART communication and the other provides the native ESP32-S3 USB OTG interface. The N16R8 variant carries 16 MB of flash and 8 MB of PSRAM, while the N8R2 variant offers 8 MB of flash and 2 MB of PSRAM. The chip supports vector instructions for accelerating neural network computation and signal processing, enabling applications such as image recognition and speech wake-up. The board is compatible with ESP-IDF, Arduino and MicroPython, and most I/O pins are broken out to headers on both sides, so peripherals can be connected with jumper wires or the board can be mounted directly on a breadboard. An antenna base is included to extend wireless range.
