The ESP32-PICO-D4 is a System-in-Package (SiP) from Espressif that combines an ESP32 SoC, crystal oscillator, filter capacitors, RF matching links, and 4MB flash into a single compact package. This USB dongle development board puts that chip into a plug-and-play form factor, making it well suited to IoT gateway applications, wireless prototyping, and any project where a small, self-contained Wi-Fi and Bluetooth node is needed. Bluetooth support covers Bluetooth V4.2 BR/EDR and BLE standards, while Wi-Fi operates across the 2.4GHz band with 802.11b/g/n support. At the heart of the package is a Tensilica Xtensa dual-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor, with 448KB of ROM and 520KB of SRAM. An integrated 40MHz crystal oscillator and a maximum CPU frequency of 240MHz round out the core specs. The board connects directly to a PC or host device via USB, and can be programmed using Arduino, MicroPython, or the Espressif IDF framework.
