The Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 and ESP32-C3 are part of the popular XIAO series of compact microcontroller development boards, all sharing the classic thumb-sized form factor while offering different wireless capabilities for IoT projects. The more capable ESP32-C6 variant supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Zigbee, and Thread (802.15.4), making it well suited to Matter-compliant smart home applications. It features a dual-core RISC-V processor running up to 160 MHz, with 512 KB SRAM and 4 MB of flash memory. The ESP32-C3 variant is an IoT mini board built around a single 32-bit RISC-V CPU, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 (BLE). It carries 400 KB SRAM and 4 MB of flash on the chip. Both variants offer multiple power modes including deep sleep, and support onboard lithium battery charge management , making them a practical choice for battery-powered wearables, sensors, and wireless IoT builds. Both boards support Arduino and ESP-IDF development environments. Each board breaks out 15 GPIO pins including digital I/Os for PWM and analogue I/Os for ADC, and supports UART, IIC, and SPI serial communication.
