Era of Tribes is a 4X civilisation worker-placement strategy game for 2-4 players aged 14 and over, set in Europe from the Neolithic period to the High Middle Ages. It is published by Black Beacon Games and designed by Arne Lorenz. The game features ten different unique tribes to choose from, and plays in around 30 minutes per player in the standard game, or 60 minutes with the longer end conditions. Players develop their tribe by placing leaders on a personal Tribal Action Board, choosing one of seven different actions each turn, which keeps gameplay quick with minimal downtime. Key mechanics include area control and influence, area movement, dice rolling, a modular board, partnerships, and variable phase order. Victory can be achieved in several ways, such as amassing wealth, holding many provinces, developing the most advances, or conquering an opponent's main territories. The Kickstarter/Gamefound edition is a crowdfunded version of the game, brand new and unused.
