The Topping DX5 II is a fully balanced desktop DAC and headphone amplifier aimed at audiophiles and serious hi-fi enthusiasts. It uses two ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips, one dedicated to each audio channel, delivering improved signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic range, and reduced distortion for exceptional high-resolution audio playback. It supports PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512 decoding. The X-Hybrid headphone amplifier circuit is Topping's next-generation design, evolving from their renowned NFCA technology. The X-Hybrid circuit uses a fully balanced quad-channel design, delivering up to 7600mW x2 output, making it equally suited to demanding high-impedance headphones and sensitive IEMs. Headphone outputs include 6.35mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and 4-pin XLR. Bluetooth 5.1 is on board with support for LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, AAC, and SBC codecs. Beyond headphone use, the DX5 II can also function as a high-quality preamp for connecting directly to active speakers or power amplifiers. A 2.0-inch full-colour display with nine customisable themes and a pressable control knob provide intuitive on-device navigation.
