About this deal

Deluxe Paint IV, published by Electronic Arts, is a bitmap graphics and animation editor for the Commodore Amiga. Originally created by Dan Silva and first released for the Amiga 1000 in 1985, the series quickly became the de facto graphics and animation editor for the platform. Version IV was the de facto state-of-the-art programme for Amiga game artists from its release in 1991. A headline addition in version IV was support for the HAM (Hold and Modify) screen format, giving simultaneous access to all 4,096 colours available on the Amiga. The software also offers powerful animation tools: the animation mode is useful for creating full-screen animations as well as small animated sprites, and a light table function lets you see the outline from the previous frame behind the current one, just as with traditional cel animation. DeluxePaint IV came with a 300-page manual. This used copy includes the bonus disk, making it a solid buy for retro computing enthusiasts or anyone looking to create pixel art and animations on original Amiga hardware.
