Deluge is a five-issue limited series published by Ignition Press, the Los Angeles-based creator-driven comic book publisher co-founded in July 2024. Written by Cullen Bunn, with art by Marika Cresta, colours by Ronda Pattison, and lettering by AndWorld Design, it is a psychological thriller about a group of women trapped with a monstrous presence inside a prison. A hard rain falls on Sieverville Correctional Prison for Women; as the river rises and overflows, the walls keeping prisoners in are failing to keep the water out -- and with the water comes something deadly. Bunn drew inspiration from a real-life ruined correctional facility in Missouri that flooded in the 1990s. The series is a haunting exploration of guilt and redemption that examines what happens when characters are truly faced with the consequences of their own actions. Bunn is the acclaimed writer behind The Sixth Gun, Harrow County, and The Empty Man, with creator-owned work spanning BOOM! Studios, Oni Press, and Dark Horse.
