About this deal
This lot pairs two interconnected titles from DC's New 52 relaunch. Animal Man was relaunched as part of The New 52 in September 2011, written by Jeff Lemire. Animal Man is a superhero who can use the abilities of any animal, drawing on the morphogenic field known as The Red. Issue #24, cover-dated December 2013, was written by Jeff Lemire with art by Rafael Albuquerque, and opens the Hollywood Babylon storyline featuring Brother Blood. Swamp Thing was also relaunched as part of The New 52 in 2011, initially written by Scott Snyder. After Snyder's Rotworld crossover concluded, Charles Soule became the main writer on the series. Swamp Thing #28 falls within the Sureen arc, written by Charles Soule. The two series share deep thematic links, with Animal Man's power source, the Red, serving as the animal counterpart to the Green from Swamp Thing. This two-issue lot is a fine pick for fans of DC's darker, horror-tinged superhero storytelling from the early 2010s. Condition: Very Good.
