Dark Souls: The Board Game - The Sunless City is a cooperative dungeon crawl game for 1 to 3 players, published by Steamforged Games. It reimagines the original Dark Souls board game experience with refreshed rules shaped by community feedback, including a new campaign and encounter system. Unlike the original, it focuses specifically on the first Dark Souls video game to deliver an immersive tabletop experience. Players choose from three classic character classes -- the Pyromancer, the Warrior, and the Herald -- on a quest to defeat Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough. A modular board design ensures fresh challenges with every playthrough, and enemies go first at the start of every round, lending the game an authentic Souls feel. The box contains 15 miniatures including 3 large bosses, 4 double-sided game tiles, 3 character boards, 200+ tokens, 190+ cards, 15 bespoke dice, 2 health dials, a campaign dashboard, and a rulebook. Gameplay runs 120 to 150 minutes and is recommended for ages 14 and up. Combining it with another Dark Souls: The Board Game core set expands play to 4 players.
