About this deal

The Microvitec CUB is a colour monitor designed and built by Microvitec in Bradford , and was one of the most popular dedicated display choices for British home computers of the 1980s. The CUB was a 14-inch screen produced by British manufacturer Microvitec, capable of displaying the full 85-character screen width without losing characters at the edges. A CUB monitor can accept analogue RGB or TTL RGB input depending on the model and its configuration, with those intended for use with a BBC Micro typically featuring TTL RGB inputs. The CUB works well with a Sinclair QL and is equally at home with Acorn machines including the BBC Micro and Electron, making it a versatile period-correct display for collectors of British 8-bit hardware. The CUB display incorporated a high-contrast medium-resolution CRT which gave a good depth of colour and minimal glare. As a used, decades-old item, buyers should factor in the age of the CRT components and check the unit carefully on receipt.
