A job lot of 9 issues from Cage, the Marvel Comics ongoing series that ran from 1992 to 1993. Relaunched in 1992 and set primarily in Chicago, the series updated Luke Cage for the Nineties, with Cage symbolically destroying his original costume on the cover of the first issue. The entire run was written by Marc McLaurin , with legendary penciller Dwayne Turner handling the artwork for the early issues. Luke Cage is a superhero who gained his powers in prison, including unbreakable skin and superhuman strength. In this series he is hired by a Chicago newspaper as their resident superhero, taking down bad guys for money while the paper gets the story. This lot includes issue 1 and a strong selection of early and later issues, making it a solid starting point for collectors with an interest in 1990s Marvel street-level heroes. The series was cancelled after 20 issues.
