About this deal
Cheval Noir, which translates from French as Black Horse, was a black-and-white anthology comic book published between 1989 and 1994 by Dark Horse Comics. Edited initially by Dark Horse founder Mike Richardson, it aimed to showcase the best work by international creators to an English-speaking audience, and ran for 50 issues in formats ranging from standard 32-page to giant-sized 72-page issues. The anthology featured chapters from notable works including Jacques Tardi's The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec, David Lynch's The Angriest Dog in the World, an adaptation of Joe Haldeman's The Forever War by Marvano, and work by Andreas and Francois Schuiten, among others. This lot of three issues from 1990 -- Issues 4, 28 and 36 -- offers a good cross-section of the series and will appeal to collectors of European comics, Dark Horse back issues, and fans of mature alternative anthologies from the early 1990s. All three are described as being in good condition.
