Bomberman GB is one of the Game Boy renditions of Hudson Soft's classic Bomberman series, which began on the NES in 1985. It was developed by Shimada Kikaku and published by Nintendo, releasing in April 1998. In Japan the game was known as Bomberman GB 2, making it a sequel to Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman! Players can work through a single-player Quest mode, a Training mode, or a four-player Battle mode using a Super NES and a Super Game Boy. Collecting power-ups hidden beneath destructible bricks increases bomb count and blast range, while other pick-ups let Bomberman whip bombs away, jump, or dash. A four-digit password system allows players to skip previously beaten levels.
