About this deal
BMC64 is a bare metal Commodore 64 emulator for the Raspberry Pi, with true 50hz/60hz smooth scrolling and low latency between input and video/audio. As well as the C64 itself, it also supports four other Commodore machines: the C128, VIC20, Plus/4 and PET. Being a bare metal fork of the VICE emulator, it launches directly into the C64 environment rather than running on top of an operating system, which delivers remarkable speed, accuracy and compatibility, and means you do not need to worry about powering off corrupting your SD card. This unit offers bare metal C64 emulation with HDMI output and SD card loading, using a purpose-built interface to connect the Raspberry Pi to the emulator. It boots into the C64 in around 4 seconds, with frames timed to vsync for smooth scrolling and no horizontal tearing. Real Commodore or Atari joysticks can be wired via GPIO, and a real Commodore keyboard can be used via a dedicated PCB. This item is opened but never used, and includes a blue LED.
