About this deal
A solid collection for fans of DC's Bronze Age era, this lot brings together four single issues from Batman Vol. 1, published by DC Comics in the mid-to-late 1970s. These are genuine Bronze Age issues , spanning a period when Batman was written with self-contained detective-style adventures. Issue #277 carries a cover date of July 1976 , while issue #287 features a story in which the Penguin embarks on a new crime spree using robots modelled on extinct birds. The four single issues are graded at 3.0, 4.5, 5.0, and 7.0, offering a range from reader copies to a respectable mid-grade. The fifth item is a Dark Knight trade paperback. The most widely known Batman title of that name is a collected edition of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, written by Frank Miller with art by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson, and an introduction by Alan Moore. It is presented in softcover, full-colour format. That TPB copy is graded at 9.2, making it a near-mint example and the standout piece of the lot for collectors.
