The Bandai SwanCrystal (model SCT-001) is a used Japan-only colour handheld console released in July 2002, and the third and final model in the WonderSwan family. It is fully backwards compatible with both original WonderSwan and WonderSwan Color game cartridges, making it the most versatile way to play the entire library. The console runs on a single AA battery, offering up to around 15 hours of play. The key upgrade over its predecessor is the TFT LCD screen, which delivers noticeably sharper contrast and greatly reduced ghosting compared to the FSTN display of the WonderSwan Color. The console also features four selectable volume levels rather than three. Like all WonderSwan models, it can be held either horizontally or vertically depending on the game. Note that all software and menus are in Japanese, as no WonderSwan model was ever officially released outside Japan.
