The Amstrad PC2086 is an IBM XT-compatible machine from 1988, designed as a successor to the earlier PC1512 and PC1640. All configurations shared an 8MHz 8086 processor and 640KB of RAM. The /30 variant is the model fitted with a 30MB RLL hard drive as standard, alongside a 720K 3.5" floppy drive and VGA video. The on-board VGA graphics chip supports multiple display standards. The PC2086 was aimed at the business market and was released alongside the PC2286 and PC2386, which featured more powerful 80286 and 80386 processors respectively.
