About this deal
Alpha Flight is a Marvel Comics superhero series featuring Canada's premier super-team. Created by John Byrne, the team first appeared in X-Men #120 in 1979, before Marvel launched a dedicated ongoing series in 1983 that ran for 130 issues. This lot covers issues 88 to 126, published between 1990 and 1993, spanning the later run of that original volume. Writers during this period include James Hudnall, Fabian Nicieza, Scott Lobdell, and Simon Furman. The lot includes several notable issues. Alpha Flight #106 (1992) is historically significant as the issue in which writer Scott Lobdell introduced Northstar as openly gay -- the first major openly gay character published by Marvel Comics -- causing the issue to sell out within a week. Issues #124-125, along with material from #122-123 and #126, tie into the Infinity Crusade crossover event. All 30 comics in this lot are described as being in Fine+ condition, making it a solid acquisition for collectors looking to complete or expand their run of this era.
