About this deal

A collection of six Marvel Silver Age comics from the Journey into Mystery series, which ran the superhero feature "The Mighty Thor", created by writers Stan Lee and Larry Lieber and artist Jack Kirby. The Tales of Asgard backup feature began in issue #97 (Oct. 1963), making it a notable starting point for the run, while issue #97 also marks the first appearance of the Enchantress and the Executioner. Issues 106 and 107 fall within the period when the series exclusively contained Thor and Asgard stories from issue #105 onwards, also introducing the Warriors Three and many other Asgardian characters. Issue #107 features Thor fighting the Grey Gargoyle in his first appearance. Issues 116 and 117 continue the Lee and Kirby collaboration, with issue #116 featuring Thor and Loki in the Trial of the Gods. Issue #117 sees Thor, in the guise of Donald Blake, captured whilst searching for Loki's enchanted Norn Stones. The lot closes with issue #124, in which Donald Blake finally reveals his true identity as Thor to Jane Foster. All six issues are presented in Very Good condition and will appeal to fans of classic Marvel and dedicated Thor collectors.
