This is a used, out-of-print plastic Citadel miniature from Advanced Space Crusade, the Games Workshop board game first published in 1990. The premise of the game was that Space Marine Scout squads were boarding a Tyranid ship in order to sabotage its internal biomechanical organs. It used 28mm plastic Citadel Miniatures as play pieces, with modular board pieces representing the innards of the Hive Ship. The game's Space Marine Scout sprues included a Scout with Heavy Weapon variant alongside standard bolter-armed Scouts and a Sergeant. This particular figure is the heavy weapons Scout, armed with a Heavy Bolter, which served as the squad's fire support option in the game. Citadel produced the miniatures for the game, with additional rules published in White Dwarf issues 134 and 145. Long since discontinued and no longer available through normal retail channels, these early-90s plastics are sought after by collectors, retro gamers, and painters looking to complete or restore their original Advanced Space Crusade sets.
