A job lot of 46 vintage Fleetway Picture Library comics spanning the Battle and War series. War Picture Library was a British 64-page pocket library war comic published by Amalgamated Press/Fleetway , and Battle Picture Library ran from January 1961 to December 1984, producing 1,706 issues. Battle Picture Library concentrated solely on land-based stories, giving writers and artists plenty of scope for tales of action and adventure. Each issue featured a complete self-contained story. These compact comics are a nostalgic favourite among collectors of classic British war comics. Battle Picture Library earned acclaim for its compelling and realistic portrayals of wartime adventures, and featured recurring characters such as Top Sergeant Ironside, Battler Britton and Maddock's Marauders.
