About this deal

A rare piece of late-1990s PC gaming hardware, this is a used 3Dfx Voodoo3 3000 graphics card built on the Avenger GPU and manufactured by STB Systems following 3dfx's acquisition of that company. The Voodoo3 3000 PCI was launched on 3 April 1999. It connects via a standard PCI slot, making it suitable for period-correct retro builds that lack an AGP slot. The card pairs 16 MB of SDR memory on a 128-bit interface, with the GPU and memory both running at 166 MHz. The Avenger core featured a 128-bit GDI accelerator, which led the Voodoo3 to be considered one of the more high-performance video cards of its generation. Thanks to its integrated 350 MHz RAMDAC, the card supports a maximum resolution of 2048x1536 at around 75 Hz. At the time, titles such as Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament were considered the Voodoo3's performance territory. It is ideal for retro gaming enthusiasts looking to run late-1990s titles with authentic hardware, and has been tested and confirmed working.
