Lycoris Recoil is a manga adaptation of the hit original Japanese anime series of the same name, written and drawn by Yasunori Bizen, with serialisation beginning in Monthly Comic Flapper in September 2022. The story is set in Tokyo and follows two young teenage girls, Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue, recruited into a covert organisation called Direct Attack to carry out missions under the Lycoris programme, all while working at a local cafe. The volume was published by Kadokawa Shoten in 2022. The first volume of the manga was released on 22 December 2022. The anime was the breakout hit of the 2022 summer season, with Blu-ray sales topping 21,000 units in the first week, the highest for any TV anime that year. This first-print Japanese edition includes the original obi band, making it a desirable collector's item for fans of the franchise.
