The ESP32-DevKitC is a compact development board produced by Espressif , available with a choice of module soldered on board. It includes a USB-UART bridge, reset and boot-mode buttons, an LDO regulator, and a micro-USB connector. Most I/O pins are broken out to pin headers on both sides, making it straightforward to connect peripherals with jumper wires or mount the board directly on a breadboard. The WROOM-32D and WROOM-32U variants are the smaller module options and do not include PSRAM, leaving GPIOs 16 and 17 free for general use. The WROVER variant adds extra PSRAM but uses GPIOs 16 and 17 internally, so those pins are not available to the developer. The WROOM-32U and any WROVER-U variant use an external antenna connector rather than a built-in PCB antenna. Compatible with Espressif's own ESP-IDF framework as well as FreeRTOS , this board suits hobbyists, students, and engineers prototyping Wi-Fi and Bluetooth IoT projects.
